by Vincent Favier - 3 November 2016 ( maj : 8 November 2016 )

Emmanuel Le Meur is in charge of Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) measurements along the traverse, allowing for a continuous mapping of surface of egal age within the firn (called isoschrones) from which accumulation rates can be deduced. He is also involved in ice sheet /glacier modelling in response to climate change with an empahasis on their future contribution to sea level rise. In that respect, he initiated observation protocols on the Astrolabe test glacier (Terre Adélie) from which required field data for modelling can be retrieved. These observations were conducted in the frame of 2 funding programs from the Agence Nationale de la Recherche (Programs DACOTA and SUMER) and are summarized at the following page : E. Le Meur has been involved in 13 expeditions in the Antarctic and 3 in the Arctic.
